This one-of-a-kind vista can only be seen high above the Nankoweap Delta in Marble Canyon. I was painting while standing next to ancient Ancestral Puebloan granaries. There is an unmatched elegance to this particular view of the Colorado River. For me, this painting represents the best combination of wilderness, an archeological site, and a hiking experience. In 1999, I asked fourteen of my best artist friends to join me on a rafting trip down the Colorado River. Following the trip several of these paintings were sold at a show at the Forbes Magazine Galleries in New York City as a fundraiser for the Grand Canyon Trust.
