Valley of the Verde

A winding road through hills topped with junipers and vast vistas of big blue mountains under a vast sky is a visual delight. Here, I linger as I start to drop in elevation into the Verde Valley which cradles the Verde River. No matter how many times I make the drive into Cottonwood, I find it spectacular. I saw the sign announcing the Verde Santa Fe townhouse development in 1986 and quickly painted on the hillside knowing that the view would soon change forever.
