CHARLES BRIDGE NOCTURNE, PRAGUE
8” x 10” | 2003 | Oil on Canvas Panel
Fascinated by Prague’s history since childhood, Tom and I finally visited in 2002. Crossing the Vltava River via the elegant 1402 Charles Bridge, its line of Baroque statues seemed to look down at me, reminding me how far I’d come from Farmington, New Mexico. Remarkably spared from severe WWII destruction, the historic span inspired this nocturne. Today, it remains one of my personal favorites—a vivid reminder of an unforgettable trip and my immense good fortune.
