LIME KILN TRAIL

I have never done the entire hike, but the Lime Kiln Trail from Red Rock State Park in Sedona runs some 15 miles to Dead Horse Ranch Park in Cottonwood. This historic pathway was an old wagon short cut of the mid-1880s pioneer miners. The trail has remained looking very much like I painted it in 1985. I have discovered that junipers dotting rolling hills give me a sort of psychologically comforting feeling. In the distance, looking west, Mingus Mountain rises up to the sky.
