GEORGE JORDAN’S ORCHARD

I have developed a deep affection for this painting because it represents a very specific artistic growth period for me which author dDamian Foreman helped me explain in my book Resilience: The Life and Grand Canyon Art of Curt Walters. Located below the Sedona Art Center and Art Barn on the flats before the creek, was an old orchard once owed by George Jordan. Not only do I have a sentimental longing for this old orchard of apple trees, but also of the memories of many of my artist friends that would join me painting those days in small Sedona. I remember fondly the art classes which I would teach in this orchard. I am very sad that this historic place is now a parking lot.
