Artist Curt Walters, known for his plein air work, is one of two featured artists this year at Gilcrease Museum’s annual Rendezvous Artists’ Retrospective Exhibition and Art Sale.
Rendezvous will open to the public on April 14, 2011 and continue through July 10, 2011.
The Art Sale is set for Friday, April 15, 2011.
Works not sold at the opening night art sale will be available for purchase throughout the exhibition by calling the Museum Shop at (918) 596-2725.

Plein Aire Master Class with Curt Walters

Plein aire impressionist artist Curt Walters, this year’s selected Rendezvous painter, will lead a three day oil painting experience for working artists. Walters is recognized worldwide for his interpretations of the Grand Canyon and among environmentalists for his contribution to fighting the effects of air pollution throughout the entire Colorado Plateau.
Monday’s class will begin with a morning lecture followed by work on the first canvas. Participants can expect to complete 5 or 6 small works over the period. Wednesday’s class will end with a discussion of these pieces. Those who enroll will provide their own supplies based upon the teacher’s recommendations.
