Matterhorn from Gornergrat

I chose ride Europe’s highest open-air cog railway direct from Zermatt, Switzerland to the summit station of Gornergrat so I could take my paint set. It is one of those places that I had wanted to paint and hike all my life. I painted the mountain panorama and the glorious view of the Matterhorn, simply unforgettable. The Matterhorn remained cloaked in clouds during this painting. On our hike that day, Tom and I experienced a panorama that is among the finest in the world.
