Fruition
I created several paintings over the years in Oak Creek Canyon north of Sedona, AZ. The areas around the present-day Cave Springs Campsites and the Harding Springs Trail are among my favorites. One of Sedona’s first homesteads once prospered in this area. In the late 1980s and early 1990s I loved painting the old abandoned red roofed house set among the old orchard and towering poplar trees. In “Fruition” blooming apple trees set in front of cottonwood and pine trees and the shadowed walls of Oak Creek Canyon. The red roof adds color and scale. Every brushstroke was entirely on location plein air responding to the day. It has come back for me to resale from the original first owner. It is as beautiful as the day I painted it.
