There is not one single spot that an artist can stand in the world famous St. Marks Square of Venice that has not at some point been painted by the greatest of the great. I love trying my hand at this subject, always recalling the many stories my art heroes, like John Singer Sargent and James McNeil Whistler, as they painted and lived in Venice, Italy. The character of this place has not changed for hundreds of years. When the sun set I met my friends, John and Teri Moyers and Tom Dailey, at Caffè Florian, simply the perfect ending to the perfect day. This painting is affectionately known as “Looking for Tom.”
