A quirk of my personality is that all things not related to art or painting rarely have much appeal, as was my reluctance to visit Las Vegas. Tom asked me to join him on a business trip, and of course I decided to take my paint set and easel. As the subject of a nocturne, the Las Vegas strip became totally magical for me. This work now ranks high among my personal favorites and became the basis for a large studio painting upon my return to the studio.
