It was suggested to me to visit Big Bend in 1984. I went reluctantly, and was surprised to be greeted with one of the most magnificent and grand desert landscapes. This particular view was from my second trip, taken in 1999, and is located north of the National Park boundary. To me it expresses the character of the unforgiving landscape, and the vastness and ruggedness that can only be found in the most southern deserts of the Western United States.
