Because a good portion of my family is in Farmington, NM, I have traveled across the Painted Desert countless times and I never fail to be impressed by its incredible beauty. During the monsoon season the storms over the desert floor are simply spectacular. I always try to time my travels so that I can stop to sketch and paint the storms.
